Care Codeine Linctus Syrup (15mg/5ml) – 200ml is a cough syrup which contains codeine phosphate, it helps to reduce the desire to cough. Active ingredient per 5ml: codeine phosphate 15mg.
Symptomatic relief of dry or irritating coughs. Contains Codeine Phosphate. Always read the label.
Recommanded Doses
Adults: One 5ml spoonful.
Elderly: Use with caution, a reduced dose can be recommended by a doctor.
Paediatric population: Codeine should not be used for the treatment of children under the age of 18 years.
Dosage schedule
The dose may be repeated after four hours if required, but not more than 4 doses in any 24 hours.

Adults: 5mL every four hours. Care Codeine 15mg/5ml should be swallowed neat followed by a glass of water. Continue taking Gold Cross Codeine Linctus as long as your doctor recommends it. If symptoms persist, see your doctor.

Active ingredient per 5ml Care+ Linctus Sugar 200ml
- Active ingredient : codeine phosphate 15mg. Also contains amongst other ingredients: ethanol, invert sugar, sunset yellow dye (E110), sucrose 4g per 5ml, alcohol 1.8 vol%.
- The other ingredients are: citric acid (E330), lemon oil terpeneless, ethanol, benzoic acid solution (E210, propylene glycol), invert syrup, quinoline yellow (E104), sunset yellow dye (E110), sucrose and purified water.
Possible side effects
Like all medicines, Codeine Linctus can have side effects, although these don’t affect everyone. Important side effects Codeine is transformed to morphine in the liver by an enzyme. Morphine is the substance that produces pain relief. Some people have a variation of this enzyme and this can affect people in different ways. In some people, morphine is not produced or produced in very small quantities, and it will not provide enough pain relief.
